Job Description:

PRN position - Flexibility with schedule but must work at least 2 shifts per month. Inpatient and Outpatient hours are 8am-4:30pm, Monday-Saturday.

Ideal candidate - Physical Therapist with experience with oncology patients, is comfortable in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. Experience in pelvic rehab and lymphedema management.

Job Summary/Purpose:

Physical Therapist performs evaluation, screening, develops a plan of care, and provides direct patient care. Independently develop and implement a physical therapy treatment program utilizing judgment to modify plan of care with a patients changing medical conditions. Conducts educational in-service on benefits of Physical Therapy to patients/families, other disciplines (hospital staff), and to the community.  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or DPT preferred, or Bachelors in Physical Therapy with minimum of 5 years’ experience

  • Current Illinois License granted by the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation from the State of Illinois

  • Candidate with an approval letter from the Continental Testing services, Inc. for PT licensure examination. In accordance with Section 90/2(2) of the Illinois Physical Therapy Act of 1987, which stipulates that the Act does not prohibit the practice of physical therapy by one who has applied in writing to the Department in form and substance satisfactory to the Department for a license as a physical therapist/physical therapist assistant, and has complied with all the provisions under Section 90/8 and 90/8.1, except taking the examination. Anyone failing to pass said examination shall not be permitted to practice physical therapy until such time as an examination has been successfully passed by such person and has received the license to practice

  • CPR certification preferred

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Job is light to heavy work, which includes frequent lifting and positioning of patients.  For greater than 50 pounds, it may be expected that the therapist will request for assistance from a co-worker for lifting or positioning.

  • Ability to stand/walk 6 to 8 hours per shift.

  • Ability to frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop & occasionally to kneel and squat.

  • Ability to prepare equipment and perform various repetitive talks i.e. simple grasping, pulling and fine manipulation (keyboard).

  • Good visual acuity is required for patient’s assessment and documentation of care.

  • Good hearing is essential for accurate patient assessment.

  • All employees in this job classification may have exposure to blood borne pathogens or other potentially infectious materials.
