Job Description:
*Weekend rotation required: 1 weekend every 6 weeks
Job Overview
Responsible for assessing nutritional status and intervening with appropriate medical nutrition therapy (MNT) and/or education to improve, maintain, or optimize nutritional status. Works under minimal supervision. 75% of time will be spent in direct patient care. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Formulate and implement nutritional care plans based on assessment of patients’ nutritional needs, diet --restrictions, nutrition support and physician care plans.
Serves as an advanced level nutrition practitioner overseeing the medical nutrition therapy of the most complex and/or high-risk patients requiring specialized nutrition interventions for acute or chronic diseases
Monitor inpatient foodservice operations to ensure compliance with physician diet orders and quality standards. Integrate food and dietetic services into the hospital wide QAPI and infection control programs.
Independently/collaboratively work to expand nutrition focused research
Function independently at the competent to proficient level to provide nutrition care to patients, including complex patient types. Serve as a mentor, resource, and leader for the entry level dietitian.
Skills, Education and Additional Information
Registered Dietitian (RD)
State Licensure (required GA) - May begin employment while applying for licensure & work for up to 6 months with supervision while license application process is pending.
3-5 years clinical nutrition experience Preferred
Ongoing Maintenance of Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
CPR/First Aid certified Preferred
Certified Specialist in Oncology (CSO) Preferred
Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) Preferred
Advanced degree in the field of nutrition Preferred
Pay Range
$48,648.29 - $80,196.48Placement within the identified pay range is based on individual and market factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, credentials (including licenses and certifications), geographic location, market competition, skill set (including market availability of required skills), assigned/anticipated job tasks, and level of responsibility. These factors are considered without regard to an individual’s status as a member of any protect group pursuant to federal, state, and/or local law.
