Job Description:

The Radiation Oncology RN is a health care professional who delivers personalized comprehensive care to patients undergoing radiation therapy through the nursing process.  The nurse is responsible and accountable for patient education and patient care while undergoing radiation treatments. Works effectively with a variety of professional and ancillary personnel.  Has a general knowledge of all areas of nursing practice.  Demonstrates good judgment, initiative, and proficiency in nursing skills. Shows professional interest through self-development, continuing education and involvement in professional organizations.  The radiation nurse will utilize the nursing process, communication skills, and problem solving techniques to deliver high quality care.

Requirements:

  • BSN
  • Registered Nurse with minimum of two years clinical experience in an acute health setting.

  • Oncology and/or Radiation Oncology experience preferred. 

  • Current PA - RN Licensure and current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

  • Must possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Good organizational, verbal, interpersonal, analytical, read and comprehends verbal/written instructions, computer skills. Demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities for oncology patients.
