Job Summary/Purpose:

Organizes and manages all administrative and patient care procedures/tasks for the Respiratory department.  Keeps current with latest advances in technology and techniques and disseminates this information to appropriate hospital staff.  Manages & directs department staff in providing dependable service and providing optimum patient care and options.  Works with department director to hire competent staff to ensure adequate staffing levels and ensure team receives on-going training for safe and efficient care provision.


Supervises Respiratory, Cardiology echo vascular team, in terms scheduling of personnel, repairs, daily department billing, and work progress within those areas of designated responsibility.  Responsible for the maintenance of efficient scheduling, patient flow, budgets, day to day requirements, quality assurance, as well as having an alertness for fiscal soundness within the department.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Business, Human Resources, Healthcare or a related field.
  • Graduate of an accredited school for respiratory therapy with licensure and certification by State of Illinois.
  • BLS Certification required
  • At least five years of respiratory therapy experience required

Two years in a management or supervisory  role preferred
