Job Description:

Manages and coordinates quality improvement activities for Southeastern Regional Medical Center ensuring that quality, patient safety, employee health, Joint Commission requirements, legal regulations and required certifications are maintained within the hospital environment. Represents Southeastern as the point person for Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) relations ensuring the hospital is meeting / exceeding requirements. Facilitates robust quality and risk management policies, procedures and programs, collaborating with Lean and Compliance departments to achieve desired outcomes.

Manages activities and programs associated with ensuring Southeastern provides a safe environment, which is free of hazards to reduce the risk of human injury to patients, visitors, and employees.  Serves as an information resource for projects, data sources, and educational programs. Designs and manages programs aimed at prevention and mitigation of risk and safety events. This position requires handling, analysis and management of confidential and sensitive administrative, personnel and medical staff data.    Supports the development of risk reports, statistics and communications with a focus on promoting a Just Culture of Patient Safety

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in nursing, healthcare management, or related field; Master’s Degree in Healthcare or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience leading quality and risk management programs in a healthcare environment
  • Experience working with an electronic health record system strongly preferred

Experience in FMEA, RCA, Quality process data collection and analysis
