Job Overview

The Manager of Market Development will report directly to the Vice President of Hospital Growth and is responsible for regional market development and data analysis. The ultimate goal of this position is to enhance Cancer Treatment Centers of America’s (CTCA) brand and strategically increase the number of patients seeking care at CTCA Phoenix and CTCA Outpatient Care Centers (OCC) from a direct to consumer aspect. The Market Development Manager will also educate the public about the differentiators within the hospital and OCCs through earned branded communications, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), leadership relations, marketing and advertising. This position requires the Market Development Manager to work cross-functionally across various areas of the business in order to strategically utilize resources effectively. The manager will develop and lead a market development plan strategically incorporating Phoenix’s goals- both for the hospital and the OCCs- with the following key efforts:

  • key market development
  • strategic relationships
  • research and market analysis
  • advertising
  • brand management and promotion
  • budget management

Utilizing the tools of the above-mentioned patient acquisition and branding efforts, the manager will develop micro-targeted campaigns to leverage the enterprise’s total marketing investment.  The result will grow new patients annually in strategically identified Designated Market Areas (DMA) within the region that have the greatest patient acquisition potential.

The manager is accountable for building media and community relationships in the 13-state region. The success of this position requires the manager to be involved in overall hospital strategic direction to incorporate those priorities into the one to three-year strategic plan.  Key collaboration with the business to business aspect of the business; Physician Relations, Employer Relations and other teams across the enterprise and hospital. The top-tier strategies created by this team will bring together patient acquisition functions.

The manager will complete in-market visits, when necessary, creating and nurturing productive relationships among thought leaders, business leaders, community leaders, cancer support organizations, and advertisers.  All in-market efforts will support top-tier strategies to bring together patient acquisition functions. 

The manager will develop a responsible and successful budget for these efforts and will manage it monthly for all teams that report to him/her. The manager will incorporate strong project-management, relationship management, strategic planning, and leadership skills to ensure that patient acquisition goals are achieved in an efficient, ROI positive manner. 

Job Qualifications  

Must have a 3-5 years of relevant Marketing

Minimum of a BS/BA in Marketing, Business, Public Relations or a related field or equivalent work experience
