Cancer care is all we do

Hope in healing

Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA®) takes a unique and integrative approach to cancer care. Our patient-centered care model is founded on a commitment to personalized medicine, tailoring a combination of treatments to the needs of each individual patient. At the same time, we support patients’ quality of life by offering therapies designed to help them manage the side effects of treatment, addressing their physical, spiritual and emotional needs, so they are better able to stay on their treatment regimens and get back to life. At the core of our whole-person approach is what we call the Mother Standard® of care, so named because it requires that we treat our patients, and one another, like we would want our loved ones to be treated. This innovative approach has earned our hospitals a Best Place to Work distinction and numerous accreditations. Each of us has a stake in the successful outcomes of every patient we treat.

The Dir Clinical System Services will function as both an inspirational leader and a team manager to a talented and diverse group of IS stakeholders and often multiple consultants.  The direct reporting team is responsible for the ongoing operational management of production systems.  The position is also responsible for performing effective and aligned goal-setting to build a high-performing team.  Project management and/or oversight of assigned project managers is a critical function as the Director is responsible for the matrix management of staff from the team, vendors and the operational departments being affected by projects.

Key focus areas of responsibility include:

Ensuring production system up-time by managing the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of production systems, or upgrades of systems being performed by vendors.  The management responsibilities include coordinating IS and vendor resources with business/customer project resources to support effective implementation of the projects within established scope, timeline and budget. Strong project management skills are a must.

Management and support of various software and process solutions that are provided by vendors and/or developed in-house.  Responsibilities include the selection, implementation, configuration, maintenance and relationships with both the vendors and the user community throughout the CTCA organization:

Collaborates and coordinates activities with the IS Project Management Office for larger project initiatives.

Operational Management:  Develops and delivers status reports, proposals, requirements documentation, change/risk/issue logs, earned value analysis, and presentations. Develops and distributes best practices and tools for project execution and management.  Another important aspect of the successful operational management of the group is to ensure strict compliance to the Operational and Capital budget, including active management of project costs, license spend, consulting spend, etc.  Further, it is important to appropriately and accurately set operating and capital budgets when performing fiscal year planning.

Customer Service:  Works with the customer departments to align the IS application’s strategy and priorities to that of customer.  Poll business partners in the operation to know their backlog of desired projects and ensure those initiatives are allocated to the fiscal year operating and capital budgets without exception (not including whether the projects make the budget cuts though).  Poll the business customers pre/during/post implementation of any initiative to know with certainty whether they are satisfied with their solutions or if we need to make adjustments.
