Job Description:

The CTCA/Rx Operations Specialist is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day workflow of specialty pharmacy services and integration within CTCA Health. This includes a broad scope of responsibilities, including managing daily operations, tracking and trending performance, intervening for real-time problem solving, and nurturing relationships with referring providers.

Operations responsibilities include developing and utilizing performance tracking to drive service line utilization and meet strategic business targets; identifying customer needs and translating into business process; facilitating and managing process improvement within the value stream; and serving as liaison in hospital, pharmacy, patient, and vendor interactions.

Beyond operations responsibilities, the CTCA/Rx Operations Specialist will also participate in the expanded development of specialty pharmacy within CTCA Health, including market analysis, new process design, and integration planning.

The CTCA/Rx Operations Specialist is accountable for the timely delivery of all reports and presentations, communication and escalation of time-sensitive patient issues, and successful implementation of improvement and change management plans.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and manage business process optimization through tracking and developing action plans around key metrics, including: script referrals, fill rates, refill management, drug margin, patient adherence and outcomes through clinical monitoring, and customer satisfaction (both patient and provider)
  • Oversee real-time pharmacy interventions including patient safety and quality issues, IS infrastructure failures, patient and provider complaints, and script processing delays
  • Develop, manage, and ensure all processes are in place to sustain access to limited distribution drugs and payer networks, and maintain state licensure and pharmacy accreditations; stay up-to-date and knowledgeable on environmental industry changes that will affect the business (opioid epidemic, DIR fee regulations, value-based contracting, etc.)
  • Prepare and present service line performance to key stakeholders, including site clinic and pharmacy teams, hospital executives, external partners, and CTCA Health leadership
  • Ensure seamless transition of process changes through diligent change management plans and communication; develop change plans and SWIs, communicate with key stakeholders, and monitor effectiveness/sustainability of change
  • Lend expertise and participate in strategy and operating plans around expansion/scaling of CTCA/Rx beyond CTCA Hospitals & Clinics, as part of greater CTCA Health strategy

Requirements

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree and minimum 2-3 years of experience
  • Clinical operations acumen, and understanding of CTCA/oncology hospital offerings
  • Proficiency in navigating patient intake, billing and insurance coverage processes for pharmacy benefits
  • Knowledge and awareness of the pharmaceutical industry, including drug development, regulation changes, etc.
  • Operational experience including developing and continual improvement of complex multi-team workflows
  • Relationship development with clinical and hospital partners (executive and frontline level) to manage barriers to supporting existing and introducing continued and expanded specialty pharmacy offerings
  • Relationship development with external partners such as technology vendors, employers, payors
