This individual must be able to operate all routine Computerized Tomography equipment in a safe and proficient manner. They must abide by and enforce all compliance requirements and policies and perform these responsibilities in an ethical manner consistent with the organization's values. This position requires initiative, the ability to make independent judgments and a positive attitude. The candidate must be able to produce high quality images with a minimum of repeats. Must be able to handle multiple room assignments and all different types of exams (diagnostic and interventional computerized tomography) on a daily basis. Must be able to communicate with physicians, patients, families, and ancillary hospital personnel. Will participate in performance improvement initiatives. Will assist with other activities as deemed necessary for the day-to-day operation of the department (i.e. clerical duties, inventory, stocking, light housekeeping duties, etc.). May participate in the training and orientation of other employees.
JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
- Selects, operates, maintains and cares for specialized equipment as power injectors, monitoring equipment, etc and performs the more sophisticated technical procedures as assigned by a supervisor or radiologist. Selects proper technical factors for quality images on an individual patient basis. Takes call on evenings and weekends as listed on the call schedule, and returns to perform emergency patient exams when called.
- Authenticates all physician orders prior to exam. Maintains accurate records of exams performed. Documents patient exam information in the Radiology Information System, specifically indicating additional charges. Provides patient care with compassion. Facilitates procurement of necessary forms, consents and documentation to comply with hospital standards and obtains required signatures. Obtains required signatures, consents, and releases.
- Maintains accurate records of supplies, medications, contrast media, patient reactions and equipment used during Computerized Technology (CT) procedures. Fills out purchase order for supplies and directs to appropriate department. May recommend at time the procurement and necessity for maintenance of equipment.
- Pursues advancing medical education through personal study (i.e. journal article review, formal education, conferences, etc.).
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: High School Graduate or equivalent
Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an AMA approved school
Education: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiography, ARRT (R) (CT)
Registered by the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) in Radiography (R ) , Computerized Tomography (CT)
Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association
Certification: High School Graduate or equivalent
Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an AMA approved school

Pay Range
$31.90 - $52.55Placement within the identified pay range is based on individual and market factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, credentials (including licenses and certifications), geographic location, market competition, skill set (including market availability of required skills), assigned/anticipated job tasks, and level of responsibility.
