Position Overview

Creates and maintains provider applications and tracks files through the re/credentialing process.  Analyzes processes and solves problems to assure completion of the credentialing and recredentialing operation according to established standards and timelines.


Responsible for procedures and systems relating to credentialing and compliance with medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, hospital and medical staff policies and other applicable state and federal regulatory and accrediting agencies.  Provides support to medical staff committees, including the Credentials Committee and Medical Executive Committee.  Assists assist the Credentials Committee Chairman, Chief of Staff, Board Members and medical staff members with medical staff issues in a friendly, discreet and cooperative manner.


Key Position Qualifications

  • High School degree
  • Certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (CPCS and/or CPMSM)
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working within a hospital based medical staff office
